Uvira School Construction Completed
The local school in Uvira, Democratic Republic of Congo, was in danger of falling into a ravine. So, the school was relocated to a new property and the building and construction was recently completed. While at first some classes were still held at the previous location, full schooling could be resumed at the new premises by the end of last year. A wonderful inauguration was held where many officials and members of the community participated.
The following services are accommodated in the school: All the schooling programmes are now solely locally funded. This means that school raises operational funds and the parents are contributing to pay the teachers. As the local people have seen the support from Helping Hands Africa, they mobilized themselves and started building a 5th classroom and the foundation for the 6th classroom.
