About Child Development 
Nearly 13 million children in Africa are orphaned due to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. One hundred and thirty-four (134) million children do not have access to education. Ninety-one (91) million children are living daily with debilitating hunger, and an estimated 1 million children enter the commercial sex trade every year in order to survive. It seems that our children today are the “forgotten generation”. Too many are roaming the streets - neglected, abandoned, and abused - either physically or emotionally.
We must realize that 20 years from now, children will be our world’s society, shaping it with their character. If all they learn today is violence, the world will be a violent place. If all they know is neglect, it will be an uncaring world. If they are abused today, it will be an abusive world. If all they learn is anarchy, disorder and selfishness, the world will be a place of egoism, disorder and without any proper value system. HHA is committed to alter the course of these children, addressing their needs, directing them towards a brighter future, for a better Africa! |
